Tell us what is wrong

The prices here are real and they are ours. We read the bookmakers on our board roughly every four minutes and publish what we actually saw, with the time we saw it. Nothing on this site is estimated, modelled or bought in. We hold no data agreement with any bookmaker, so a price can be a few minutes old and the bookmaker's own price is the one that counts. How live is this?

So why call it a demo? Because we are a data company, and data gets better with time. Every day we run, the price record gets longer, the licence register gets more complete and the ranking rests on more evidence. Some pages are still being written and a few bookmakers are not fully covered yet.

We would rather be useful now than perfect later. What is here already answers the question most punters never get answered: who is actually paying most, right now, and who is actually licensed to take your bet. Waiting another six months to publish that would help nobody.

Where we are unsure, we say so. Where we have not checked something, we do not claim it. If you find something wrong, tell us and we will fix it and say we did.

This site is still being built and it is built on data, which means it gets more accurate the more it is checked. If something looks wrong, it might be. We would rather hear it from you than leave it up.

Tell us what to fix, or what to add

We built this site by reading bookmakers' own terms and counting what their customers say. Both of those get better the more people check them. If a figure here does not match what you were shown, or there is something we should be covering and are not, this goes straight to us.

You do not have to leave your name or an address. Somebody reporting a wrong licence number should not have to identify themselves to do it.

Nothing you send is stored on this site. It becomes an email and that is all. If we act on a correction it goes in the correction log with the date, whether or not you asked us to.

Something is wrong on a page

A price that does not match the bookmaker, a licence number that looks off, a broken link, a page that reads badly on your phone. All of it is worth sending.

What helps most: the page address, what you expected, and what you saw instead. A screenshot beats a description.

For bookmakers

You want to be listed

We add bookmakers on evidence, not on approach. There is one condition before anything else is discussed.

You must hold a current South African bookmaker licence. If you are licensed offshore and taking South African bets, we are not the site for you and no commercial arrangement changes that. It is the entire premise of this business and it is not negotiable.

What to send: your licensed legal entity, company registration number, the issuing provincial board and the licence number. We check it against the register before replying.

Apply to be listed

Goes to [email protected]. Being listed and paying us are separate things: the ranking formula gives commercial relationships zero weight, and bookmakers who pay us nothing appear on the same terms. See how we make money.

What we do with it

If you tell us a fact is wrong and you are right, we change it and record the change with a date. If you are wrong, we will tell you why, because a correction we reject should be as visible as one we accept.

We do not publish reader names or addresses, and we do not add anyone to a mailing list. There is no list.

What we cannot help with

We are not a bookmaker. Licensed Bets takes no bets, holds no money and has no access to any betting account. If a bookmaker has not paid you, closed your account or voided a bet, we cannot intervene. Raise it with them in writing first, and if that fails, take it to the provincial board that licensed them. Their licence number and authority are on their page here, which is what that page is for.
