Does your gambling advert carry what the law requires?
Paste an advert below. This checks it against the four wording requirements South African gambling advertising has to carry, and tells you which are missing. It runs entirely in your browser: nothing you paste is sent anywhere or stored.
What it checks, and why
These four come from the Consolidated National Gambling Regulations, regulation 2(2)(a)(i). They are the same checks that fail this site's own build if any page drops one, so the tool holds you to exactly what we hold ourselves to.
- The 18+ reference. No persons under 18 may gamble.
- The programme name, written in full as the National Responsible Gambling Programme.
- The toll-free number, 0800 006 008.
- The slogan. "Winners know when to stop." This is the one most often dropped, because it reads as decoration and is not.
What it does not check
Font size. The regulation also requires the warning to be at least the size of your body copy. That cannot be judged from pasted text, because it depends on the rendered page and its stylesheet. This tool will never tell you that part passed. Check it yourself, or it goes unchecked.
It also does not check provincial rules, platform advertising policies, or anything about the offer being advertised.
Terms of use
This tool is provided free and as is. It is not legal advice and it is not a compliance certification. A pass here means the four wording elements above were found in the text you pasted. It does not mean your advert is lawful, and it does not mean it will be accepted by any regulator, platform or publisher.
You remain solely responsible for the compliance of anything you publish. Licensed Bets accepts no liability for any loss, penalty, rejection or damage arising from use of this tool or reliance on its output, whether the result was correct or not. If you need certainty, take proper legal advice.
Nothing you paste leaves your browser. There is no server, no logging and no storage.
