The short answer
ZAR Bets advertises a 200% match, the largest among the offers we verified, and its own terms require R60 000 of betting on a R1 000 deposit before you can withdraw. TopBet advertises 100% and requires R3 000. The bigger headline costs twenty times more to clear.
Every figure below is quoted from the bookmaker's own terms and linked to the page it was read from. Where we could not read an operator's terms, that row says so and carries no numbers.

Turnover is calculated on a R1 000 deposit using each operator's own multiple and basis, capped at their own maximum bonus. Flat sign-up bonuses have no deposit match, so their turnover is the bonus itself. This table does not rank bookmakers: a low multiple on a small capped bonus is a different product from a high one on a large bonus.
† This turnover is on your own deposit and has to be completed before the bonus is granted at all, so the money at risk is entirely yours and finishing the requirement is not the last step. Both such offers are explained directly below.
Two offers where you do the betting before the bonus exists
A "100% deposit match" normally means the bonus lands and you then work it off. FirstBet and Easybet run it the other way round. The wagering is done first, on your own deposit, and the bonus is granted only once you have finished.
FirstBet requires you to "wager their first deposit at least 5x at odds of 1.9 or higher" before any bonus is allocated. On a R1 000 deposit that is R5 000 of your own money through the tills at near-evens or better. Then the bonus bet itself must be wagered once more, and if it wins you "only receive the profit from the winnings. The stake from the Bonus Bet will fall away."
Easybet asks for 4x the deposit at odds of 2.0 or higher on sport, or 15x on casino, again before crediting anything. Its own worked example reads: "Bet R15 000 on Slots (15x your R1000 deposit · only Slots count)."
Neither credits the bonus on its own. FirstBet's terms say "To claim, the Bonus, the customer must contact FirstBet Support", and allow itself 48 hours to allocate it. Easybet says "Claim instantly via live chat, or email [email protected]." You can complete every requirement, never send that message, and receive nothing.
The clause that can cost you money you already had
Most bonus caps limit what you can win. Two here go further. FirstBet: "The maximum payout from any single bonus spin is R3 000. Should the customer receive a payout greater than this amount on a bonus spin, FirstBet will deduct the difference from the customer's cash wallet." Easybet: "The maximum real money payout using your Free Spins is R1000, any amount over R1000 will be deducted from your Main Funds Wallet."
Read that twice. A free spin that wins too much does not simply stop paying at the cap. The excess comes out of the cash balance you funded yourself. Across everything we have read, this is the only class of term that can leave you with less of your own money than before the bonus was applied.
The three things the headline never tells you
The biggest offer in South Africa is not a betting offer
Goldrush advertises what it calls the biggest welcome deal in the country, up to R25 000 across four deposits. Its own terms state: "The First Deposit Slots Bonus can only be used on Slots games." It cannot be used on a single sports bet, and the wagering is 30x, so a R10 000 bonus needs R300 000 of slots turnover.
Where you play can change the price six-fold
World Sports Betting requires you to "wager five (5) times the amount of the bonus on Sports/Racing, or thirty (30) times the amount of Live Games/Casino before you can withdraw". Same bonus, same account. Using it on slots instead of sport makes it six times harder to free.
Minimum odds decide whether a bonus is clearable at all
Lucky Fish requires "15/10 (1.5 decimal) on Horse Racing" and "6/1 on all other sports". In the decimal odds our board shows, those are 2.5 and 7.0. Seven is roughly a one-in-seven chance on every qualifying bet, so in practice that bonus is clearable on horses and very hard to clear on anything else. TopBet sets a ceiling as well as a floor, at maximum odds of 16, so a long shot will not clear its bonus either.
Minimum-odds figures on this site are TOTAL decimal odds, the format our board displays, which include your stake. Several operators quote NET odds instead: Hollywoodbets writes '5/10 (0.5 decimal)' and Lucky Fish writes '15/10 (1.5 decimal)', both of which exclude the stake and are 1.5 and 2.5 in total decimal. Where an operator's own wording differs from the figure in our table, that is why, and both are shown.
Two offers, same words, double the cost
World Sports Betting and BetBus both advertise a 100% match and both state 5x wagering. BetBus multiplies your deposit and the bonus; World Sports Betting multiplies the bonus alone. On a R1 000 deposit that is R10 000 against R5 000. Identical wording, twice the requirement.
How long you have
Hollywoodbets and Lucky Fish both give you 24 hours from account activation before the bonus is forfeited. TopBet, BetBus and Goldrush allow seven days, and Goldrush counts from registration rather than from your deposit. World Sports Betting and ZAR Bets state no expiry in the terms we read.
What we could not read
One of the twelve bonuses on this site has terms we could not reach. It gets no numbers above rather than an estimate.
- Playabets — 100% first deposit match up to R3,000 plus 50 free spins. Playabets publishes no detail page for this offer. Every other promotion on their site carries a "View more" link to its own terms; the welcome bonus carries only an "Opt in" button, and the wagering multiple, minimum odds and expiry appear nowhere we can reach without opting in on a funded account. Their general terms say bonuses may carry wagering requirements and leave the numbers to each promotion, so the general terms do not fill the gap.
We will add it when we can read it, and not before. Publishing an estimate here would defeat the point of the page.
Before you take any of them
A bonus is worth taking when the turnover it demands is betting you were going to do anyway. If clearing it means placing bets you would not otherwise place, at odds you would not otherwise take, the bonus is costing you rather than paying you. Every figure on this page was read on 9 August 2026 and bookmakers change promotions without notice, so check the current terms in the cashier before you deposit.
